Are the gowns precut or do we have to cut them from the material ourselves?

The gowns are not precut. We do include patterns with the instructions to make it easy to cut the material to the correct size. You simply cut out the pattern, place it over the material and cut along the pattern. Each kit is designed to be easy to build. Though the outfits look complex, they are actually mostly made from simple shapes such as rectangles and circles.
